Full Review – Crown Verity Estate Series 36-Inch Gas Grill

While a name most people haven't heard of, Crown Verity has been in the cooking appliance business for over a hundred years. Most of their products fall into the professional kitchen category (and are very good), but they do offer a line of outdoor grills, particularly built-in units. The Crown Verity 36-Inch Estate Series is a beautiful grill, built not out of imitation, but out of innovation.

Since Crown Verity didn’t set out to make a grill that looked and worked like all the others, the Estate Series grill is simple but powerful. In fact, this is a very powerful gas grill. The five burners can each pump out 15,000 BTUs for a maximum output of 75,000 BTUs under 714 square inches of heavy stainless steel cooking grates. The cooking chamber is large and deep. This produces an even heat and a large dome space above the cooking grates. The lid also fits into the body in such a way as to hold in heat better than many grills.

This grill is not loaded with classic features. There is an internal light, but that is about it. On the other hand, the lid is removable so this grill could be approached from any direction for an open grilling experience. The drip pan is deep and can be filled with water to make cleaning easy, but really to add moisture to the cooking environment if desired. This grill is actually a lot more versatile than it appears at first glance. It is also very well built.

The biggest problem with the Crown Verity grill is its limited distribution. Yes, it can be bought online, and there are some retailers, but not being a well known brand and being a little harder to understand for the average consumer, not many places carry this line. That is a shame. It’s a great grill and certainly worth considering for any outdoor kitchen application. Crown Verity does have a wide range of outdoor kitchen appliances and cabinetry, so they can fill most any need.
